- Dell‘s upcoming 4K XPS 12 hybrid leaks
Sony might have the monopoly on 4K smartphones, but Dell now look to join the hybrid laptablet segment with the addition of a 4K screened contender; the XPS 12.
In fresh leaks, uncovered by German website WiFuture, the XPS 12 has emerged as a convertible hybrid with specs that will pit it squarely against Microsoft‘s Surface Pro 3, or more aptly, the soon-to-be-announced Surface Pro 4.

- Facebook unveils happiness, laughter and anger “˜Like‘ buttons
Following confirmation earlier this year that Facebook is officially developing a “˜dislike‘ button, the popular social network has changed course and instead unveiled five new “˜reactions‘.
Users will now be able to share emotive responses to posted content, rather than simply indicate their approval or sympathy. While the standard “˜Like‘ button will remain, users will now be able to indicate their love, happiness, shock, sadness, anger, and laughter on or for a particular post.

- Facebook confirms plans to beam free internet to Africa
Facebook has previously confirmed that the use of satellites will play a large role in the deliverance of its free internet initiative, and today the social network confirmed that it has teamed up with Eutelsat ( a French communications specialist) to beam connectivity to more than 14 Sub-Saharan African countries.

- Facebook Messenger arrives for Apple Watch
Ahead of today‘s news that the Apple Watch will officially be available for purchase in South Africa before the end of October, consumers will be able to enjoy Facebook chats on Apple‘s premium wearable.

- LG unveils the double-screened V10
Fresh from the launch of the flagship G4 and annoucement of the smaller G4 Beat earlier this year, LG has taken a suprising step at unveiled the V10; a smartphone which sports a second screen alongside dual front-facing cameras.

- Huawei now the 3rd largest smartphone manufacturer
We are all well versed in the Apple-Samsung war that has dominated the smartphone market for around 6 years (since the Samsung Galaxy range started competing against the iPhone). Other manufacturers like LG, Sony and Windows Phone have tried to solidify the bronze position but they have not seen Huawei lurking in the background during 2015.

- LG G4 Stylus slated to arrive in South Africa
Earlier this morning, LG Mobile confirmed that yet another G4 sibling device is set to arrive by year-end; the G4 Stylus, the “˜brother‘ to the mid-tier G4 Beat.
The G4 Stylus ““ as its name might suggest ““ arrives as a slightly larger and far less powerful variant of the G4, accompanied by a stylus a la Samsung‘s Galaxy Note lineup.

- LG G4 vs Huawei P8: Birds of a feather
In the last couple of years, things have drastically changed in the Android flagship market. Just the other day, Samsung owned the flagship market within Android, with few others really putting their hands up as a valid challenger (the HTC One being the only one coming to mind).
These days, however, things have changed drastically. There are now many Android flagships vying for that top position, and rightly so. There are plenty of great Android phones out there right now, many with flagships specs at a fraction of the cost you‘ll pay for the iPhone or Samsung Galaxy S series.

- Mxit formally shuts down
There‘s a great disturbance in the Force; as if millions of accounts suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.
South African messaging service Mxit ““ which is well known to generations of adolescents in the 2000s ““ has formally decided to close operations and donate company assets in the face of a declining user-base.
