Samsung’s absurdly sized Galaxy View tablet is now official

We‘ve seen the Galaxy View for quite some time in leaked press images as well as regulatory listings, but couldn‘t imagine Samsung truly taking it seriously. They were though, and they have now officially released the device (no doubt partly as a result of the leaks).
So, what exactly makes the Galaxy View such a special tablet? We’re talking an 18.4-inch Full-HD (1080p) display, 1.6GHz octa-core processor, 2.1MP front-facing shooter, LTE connectivity through NanoSIM, 2GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage (with microSD expansion), and up to 8 hours of video playback with the onboard 5,700mAh power plant.
Unfortunately, Samsung hasn’t announced pricing or availability yet, but we’ll likely learn those details in the coming days.
As we speculated previously, this device is aimed as people who are going to consume a lot of multimedia, especially watching streaming services like Netflix, Hulu and the like.
Would you ever buy a device solely for one purpose?
