Earlier this morning, LG Mobile confirmed that yet another G4 sibling device is set to arrive by year-end; the G4 Stylus, the ‘brother’ to the mid-tier G4 Beat.
The G4 Stylus – as its name might suggest – arrives as a slightly larger and far less powerful variant of the G4, accompanied by a stylus a la Samsung’s Galaxy Note lineup.
LG have confirmed that the G4 Stylus will soon be available in South African stores come this November. The device’s Rubberdium Stylus is designed, as one might expect, for note-taking and drawing using – natively – LG’s QuickMemo app.
On the technical front, the G4 Stylus arrives carrying Android 5.0 Lollipop supported by a Quad-Core 1.2Ghz Cortex A53 and an Octa-core 1.4Ghz on the 3G model. The Stylus will carry 8-16GBs of internal storage with 1GB and 2GB of RAM respectively, and will carry a MicroSD card slot for expandable storage.
The G4 Stylus won’t, unfortunately, bring the G4’s mighty screen to the table, and will instead carry a 720p screen at 258 pixels per inch.
The Stylus carries a 13MP rear camera with a 5MP front-facing camera, and will bring Manual Mode over from both the G4 and G4 Beat, including configurable shutter speed, ISO, Gesture Shot, and Laser autofocus.
Further, the Stylus will carry a 3000mAh battery, and will arrive with a spare 3000mAh batter in the box.
LG haven’t yet named a specific date for release, and we’ll be sure to provide news on the device’s price pending release from LG.
What are your thoughts on the G4 Stylus? Does it offer a compelling budget take on the G4, or has the G4 Beat set enough of a precedent? Let us know in the comments below!
