With Huawei stealing Apple’s thunder by releasing the “force touch” enabled Mate S rumors suggest that the technologies won’t be the same at all. Apple is rumored to release and “upgraded” version of Force Touch with next generation “3D Touch” technology. According to 9to5Mac’s Mark Gurman (a trusted Apple source) the new tech will be launched with the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus at Wednesday’s event.
For those that don’t know, Force Touch will allow your phone to know the difference between a tap, a press, and (the new one) a deeper press. As a result, developers can add all kinds of extra menus and options to save you some time in the OS. An example of this could be to “3D Touch” a certain app and it will take you directly to a pre-programmed section and not just launch the app.
In true Apple style we think that the new technology will launch with a variety of uses already available (with the launch of an iOS update). The new tech might also help the iPhone 6S avoid being overshadowed by the iPad Pro and theApple TV 2.0 next Wednesday. All of this is still speculation until Wednesday of course.
