Samsung announces Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic with rotating bezels

We have known that the Samsung Gear S2 is on its way for a while, with indications that Samsung would launch it at IFA 2015 this week. Even before the show has started, though, Samsung has made the device official.
Interestingly, we won‘t be getting only the Gear S2, but also the Gear S2 Classic. Having already seen the Gear S2 confirmed by Samsung, let‘s focus on what new information we‘re seeing, including the much rumoured rotating bezel control. At first we weren‘t too sure what features (if any) to expect from the rotating bezel, but Samsung have confirmed that you will in fact control the device with it and a couple of hardware buttons.
The Gear S2 and Gear S2 classic are functionally identical, with 1.2-inch OLED displays, dual-core 1GHz SoCs, 512MB RAM, 4GB storage, and 250mAh batteries. They‘ll support wireless charging, NFC, and connect over Bluetooth and WiFi. The only difference is the aesthetics, with the Gear S2 being the more “˜sporty‘ plastic design (on the left in the picture above), whereas the Gear S2 Classic has a more classy design (on the right).

We still don‘t have any details on pricing and availability, but we are sure Samsung will make that clear in Berlin at IFA this week.
