Google unveils its new logo

Following breaking news a little over a week ago that Google had a new holding company in the form of Alphabet, the world’s most popular search engine has unveiled a brand new logo.
The new design – which is far more flat – is decidedly the biggest departure from Google’s prior logos since the company’s inception in September of 1998.
The new logo has already been rolled out to a litany of Google’s services, with a new multi-coloured G emblem replacing the former ‘g’ icon that populated everything from browser tabs, Chrome menus, and even Android icons.
The logo offers a cleaner and far more simplified appearance, moving away from the serif font that has dominated the search engine’s landing page for years.
Google unveiled its newest logo through an official blog post earlier this morning. “This isn‘t the first time we‘ve changed our look and it probably won‘t be the last, but we think today‘s update is a great reflection of all the ways Google works for you across Search, Maps, Gmail, Chrome and many others. We think we’ve taken the best of Google (simple, uncluttered, colorful, friendly), and recast it not just for the Google of today, but for the Google of the future,” the official post read.
Further, the company unveiled a new video which charts the rise of the search engine from it’s humble beginnings through the release of milestones such as Gmail and its Chrome browser.
