If you are just a tiny bit Star Wars inclined you can’t help to feel the growing anticipation in the air. 2015 will be a defining year for the Star Wars franchise with the hype culminating in the December release of Episode VII: The Force Awakens. Meanwhile everyone and his mate is trying to jump on the Star Wars bandwagon.
The past weekend there were a lot of Star Wars announcements at Disney’s D23 expo. Notably on the gaming side of things Sony announced that they will release a limited edition Darth Vader-themed PS4 console alongside the long awaited Star Wars Battlefront game. The console will be a sully customised chassis housing a 1TB drive.
The console will come with a uniquely styled DualShock 4 controller that features a red directional pad, grey thumbsticks and a mix of grey and red face buttons and red and blue shoulder buttons. The console bundle will come in two bundle variations, one with a copy of Star Wars: Battlefront and the other (currently only exclusive to Walmart in the US – maybe coming the Makro?) comes with the Saga Starter Pack edition of Disney Infinity 3.0.
The coolest part of the bundles is the fact that they come with download vouchers for Star Wars Classics like Super Star Wars, Star Wars: Racer Revenge, Jedi Starfighter and Star Wars Bounty Hunter (all remastered for PS4). Expect the Darth Vader PS4 edition to be available in the middle of November (for the US). Hopefully us Saffers won’t have to wait too long…
