With the tech world buzzing and left drooling by the Samsung event last Thursday and teasing the Samsung Gear S2, it seems that Motorola want a piece of the spotlight. Someone at Motorola decided to send the tech world scrambling at the possible hint of a Moto 360 sequel. We’re all waiting for the second version of the first round smartwatch released in September 2014. With this simple (but called “œaccidental“) tweet, made a few days ago, it seems the internet has forgotten about the Gear S2.
Motorola had posted this video on both Instagram and Twitter, shortly after; deleting any signs of it. With the way the internet works these days, it‘s nearly impossible to post something without it being caught by the vigilance of the tech geeks. Based on the video, we can see that the device is indeed different to the original Moto 360. For instance, the external lugs on the watch in the video is new, more reminiscent of an analog watch.
The power button has moved further up from the original watch to a 2 o‘clock position, while retaining its round face. A Motorola smartwatch believed to be the Moto 360 2 surfaced within an FCC certification filing recently, possibly fueling the rumours that an upgrade to the original is due. This video may only be a rendering and after Lenovo‘s CEO leaked pictures in March, all of this is simply too well orchestrated to be accidental. It seems that we may need to hold out on the excitement a bit longer.
