More details on Samsung’s next Galaxy Note handset have leaked following last week’s news, revealing new details and images of Samsung’s upcoming phablet.
With an expected release date set for the 13th of August at an event in New York City, Samsung appear to be pre-empting the launch of Apple’s next iPhone(s) by releasing its next Galaxy Note a month ahead of Apple’s traditional September event.
If new leaks are to be believed, the Galaxy Note 5 will gain a feature many criticised the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge for lacking; a MicroSD expansion slot which will support a MicroSD card up to a 128GB capacity.
Additionally, it is expected that the new Note will follow in both the S6 and S6 Edge’s wake and will possess an irremovable battery.
A recent product leak pictures the Note 5, with aesthetics that mirror Samsung’s latest design language as seen with the Galaxy S6; the image in question depicts a gold Note 5 that is reminiscent of a larger Galaxy S6. The Note pictured bears less-rounded corners, and carries the same antenna lines as the S6.

An accompanying image also pictures a device identified so far as the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus – a larger variant of the S6 Edge which moves into similar size territory as the Galaxy Note.
Both handsets are expected to launch carrying Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, and, if a leak from the Czech Republic is accurate, the Galaxy Note 5 will sporting a Quad HD display, an Exynos 7422 SoC processor, and 4GB of RAM.
