Sony has been in the news quite a bit over the past couple of months. There is still a lot of talk surrounding whether or not Sany might actually sell their mobile business, but whatever the outcome there it’s clear that the company will still have several products in the pipeline. We will definitely see a few of those devices at Mobile World Congress next week in Barcelona, and we may have gotten an early glimpse of one already…
A very short lived image was posted on the Sony Xperia Lounge app before getting pulled. The image, which has a few sparse details, shows what seems to be the new Xperia Z4 Tablet. The report on this leaked photo was made by the Xperia Blog. The photo, which is actually a screenshot clearly confirms that the Z4 Tablet will have a 2K display, “œthe latest ultra fast processor“ and “œindustry leading battery performance“.
The design looks very similar to the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, so what we may see is a 10-inch version with 2K screen. Interestingly, the date on the app of 3 March 2015 pretty much confirms that the Xperia Z4 Tablet will make an appearance at MWC next week. We expect Sony to announce what it has up its sleeve on Monday 2 March 2015.
Sony is still forging ahead with new mobile products, so the talk about selling the mobile business might just be a bit of smoke and mirrors. We will see what’s what at MWC next week.
