Stick the word “˜smart‘ in front of any household item and you are bound to come up with something interesting these days. Some are quite strange, though, such as the Parrot Flower Power Wireless Plant Sensor. Other times, they can be extremely useful and help make some difficult tasks a little bit easier.
One such device is the Wishbone, by Joywing Tech, who just launched a campaign on Kickstarter. While there are other devices such as this on the market, Joywing claim that “œWishbone is the world’s smallest and easiest-to-use smart thermometer. It can accurately check body, object or environment temperature.“
The obvious use case they tout most vigorously is taking your child‘s temperature quickly and easily, and the companion app will store all the historical data to monitor health over a longer period. Not only that, but it does not require contact at all, and can detect body temperature in under 2 seconds.
Through its app, Wishbone can store historical data which can be viewed at a later date for analysis and reference. This feature is particularly helpful for parents monitoring their baby’s recovery from illness and for couples that are trying to conceive. Wishbone‘s unique Y-shape is designed for better viewing angles while operating it and it is the only smart thermometer that is compatible with both Android and iOS devices.
