Many people said that 2014 would be the year of the smartwatch, which never really happened. There were quite a few wearables that launched last year, but very few of them was adopted by the public with any kind of enthusiasm (other than perhaps the Moto 360 ““ which still hasn‘t sold in great numbers).
This year, though, you can expect even more companies to bring their own take on what analysts are again saying is the hot new tech segment. Alcatel is making a massive push in mobile, and they definitely don‘t want to be left out in the cold.
Aside from lots of smartphones and a tablet, Alcatel OneTouch is also introducing a smartwatch, called the OneTouch Watch. Like some of the more distinguished smartwatches that have been released, it has a round shape. What is a complete novelty, however, is the fact that is it compatible with both Android and iOS smartphones.
This is also one of the first smartwatches catering for the feminine touch, being a little smaller than some other bulky smartwatches like the LG G Watch R.
The Alcatel OneTouch Watch has a 1.22-inch display and a 210mAh battery. It comes with the standard sensors such as an Accelerometer, Gyro, Altimeter, Heart rate sensor, and E-compass. It is also IP67 rated, which has become somewhat of a standard in smartwatches.
Do you like the look of this device? What is your favourite smartwatch thus far?
