If you have been holding out for the new iPad Air, you do not have to wait too much longer. Core announced their pricing and launch date for Apple’s latest tablet. The new thinner than ever iPad will be available in Space Gray and White / Silver, and will be available in a range of storage sizes:
| iPad Air | Wifi Only | Wifi+ Cellular |
| 16GB | R5999 | R7799 |
| 32GB | R7399 | R8999 |
| 64GB | R8699 | R9999 |
| 128GB | R9999 | R11499 |
We had some hands-on time with the iPad Air, and it is a massive step up from previous models. Performance is indeed much faster – games and large apps launch incredibly quick, and the device does not get as warm as previous models. Despite its “desktop class” performance, the big news is of course that Apple has made it dramatically thinner and lighter. For the first time the larger iPad Air is a comfortable device to handle with one hand when reading. The model we played with was the Space Grey one, which looks great.
But to be honest, we are rather waiting for the iPad Mini Retina model. Same performance as the Air, Retina screen, and thinner and lighter. Oh, and cheaper as well. Yes please.
