Calling all tech wizards and conceptualizers – today is the last day to get your entries in for this year‘s Startup Knight competition.
Startup Knight is a competition aimed at startup tech entrepreneurs in South Africa. It was launched earlier in October by Byte Orbit.
The Startup Knight competition have also included a new division within the competition. Not only will tech startups reap the rewards, but also visionaries.
In the startup phase, along with an amazing prize to the winner, Startup Knight will also mentor and support the winning startup during their incubation phase all the way until it reaches it‘s maturity.
The grand prize is no small prize either; the winner will receive software development to the value of R100 000 and also R100 000 worth of PR, proudly sponsored by Byte Orbit.
This year, the Concept phase, which is the second division, has been themed “˜Moneypulation‘.
The competition has been designed to attract big thinking visionaries with the most innovative concept phase software that will stand out in the tech and financial industry.
Similar ideas would be the likes of BitCoin, PayPal, Mint and Square.
A R100 000 cash prize awaits the winner of this division.
If you are an undiscovered tech genius with an idea that will blow the socks off the industry, then the Startup Knight competition might just be the first step to making your dream a reality.
The only requirement for the competition is that your entry must be focused on a software product.

Eight Startup finalists and eight Concept finalists will be chosen out of the pool of entries and will be announced by October 25th.
If you are selected as a finalist, you will be required to attend a mentorship day on November 1st at the Byte Orbit offices in Durbanville, Cape Town. Here, you will have to pitch to well know entrepreneurs in the industry.

On November 2nd, the finalists will have to pitch their ideas to a judging panel also at the Byte Orbit offices.
The final results of the winners in both divisions will be announced on the evening of November 2nd, at the Startup Knight cocktail event which will be held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Granger Bay, Cape Town.
