This is absolutely amazing. We have previously reported on 3D printing and how it is making waves all around the world lately, but now, two 15-year old South African teenagers have taken 3D technology to a whole new level.
Just as Yahoo! Japan decides to roll out a 3D printer that prints whatever you search for n the internet, these two youngsters decide to combine smartphone apps with 3D printing.
The result; an app that allows a Nokia Lumia to print it‘s own cover by using a 3D printer. Sound unbelievable? Well, believe it.
According to the teenagers, their aim with the creation of the app, is to increase the adoption of 3D printing in Africa through the use of mobile technology.
Well they have certainly caught our attention – and we‘re betting they will get the rest of the world‘s attention quite soon.
Way to go, boys!
