We recently reported on a rumour originally posted by 9to5 Mac, that based on information revealed to the site by sources, Apple is working on a 128GB iPad model.
Now that rumour is true. Today, Apple has officially announced that it will be launching just that – a model almost identical to the 4th generation iPad with retina display only with twice the storage capacity.
In the announcement Philip Schiller, Apple‘s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing says that “œWith more than 120 million iPads sold, it‘s clear that customers around the world love their iPads, and everyday they are finding more great reasons to work, learn and play on their iPads rather than their old PCs. With twice the storage capacity and an unparalleled selection of over 300,000 native iPad apps, enterprises, educators and artists have even more reasons to use iPad for all their business and personal needs.“
The new 128GB iPads will be available from Tuesday 5th February in the U.S.
