has reported that the new Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7-inch has been confirmed for South Africa.
The Korean electronics company has revealed that the successor to its first 7-inch Android tablet that runs on Android 4.0 or Ice Cream Sandwich will be launched in global markets from March, and will arrive in South Africa in Q2 2012.
In addition to Google‘s updated suite of embedded applications for Android 4.0, the new Galaxy Tab will also include the Samsung Music Hub, Readers Hub, and Game Hub.
In addition, Samsung has also launched the Video Hub that will also be launched in South Africa some time in 2012, that is said to offer 1, 000 films that users can rent. The Video Hub will also provide reviews, trailers, and recommendations.
The Galaxy Tab 2 also includes Samsung‘s upgraded Touchwiz user interface that features Hub widgets for one-step access to users‘ content in Hubs and S Suggest, a new service offering recommendations of apps suited to users‘ tastes directly on a home screen.
Other specifications of the Galaxy Tab 2 include HSPA+ downloads up to 21 Mbps, 1 GHz Dual-Core Processor, rear facing 3 megapixel CameraSub and front facing VGA camera for video calls and 7″ 1,024-by-600 resolution display. There will be both Wi-Fi and 3G models available.
Samsung is also rumoured to be developing a 2GHz Galaxy Tab measuring 11.6 inches and running on Android 4.0.x.
