After three days of frustrating service interruptions for millions of Blackberry customers in Africa, Europe and the Middle East that affected internet access, email and BBM, Research In Motion is offering free premium apps to customers as compensation and a gesture of appreciation for their patience during the time of the Blackberry service disruptions. The selection of apps worth a total of $100 will be available for customers to download in the coming weeks from the 19th October on BlackBerry App World until 31 December 2011.

We‘ve worked hard to earn their trust over the past 12 years, and we‘re committed to providing the high standard of reliability they expect, today and in the future.“

RIM‘s enterprise customers will also be offered one month of free Technical Support and current customers will be offered a complimentary one month extension of their existing Technical Support contract. For customers who do not have a Technical Support contract, they will be offered a one month trial free of charge.
